Rabbit Age Calculator
Enter a birth date or an approximate age. The human-year figure is an estimate, not a conversion from a paper.
Where the estimate comes from
For the first rabbit year, human years = age × 21. After that, human years = 21 + (age − 1) × 6. The model is written through 12 rabbit years. Older ages keep the same step and say so.
A stage table of sexual maturity and care tasks is not on this page. Those figures are not in the sourced file. Stage-specific care guides are not published yet. Care guides
Lifespan range
Indoor house rabbits typically live 8–12 years, depending on size, breed, and care. Outdoor domestic rabbits on the same page live about 3–5 years. This tool does not ask indoor or outdoor, and it uses the indoor range only.

Questions
- Is the human-year number a real biological conversion?
- No. There is no authoritative rabbit-to-human age formula. This page multiplies the first rabbit year by 21, then adds 6 human years for each rabbit year after that. The result is labeled estimate.
- How long do rabbits live?
- House Rabbit Society says indoor house rabbits typically live 8–12 years, depending on size, breed, and care. The same page says outdoor domestic rabbits live about 3–5 years. This calculator uses the indoor range and does not split it by size, because that page does not publish separate ranges.
- Does breed size change the result?
- The size you pick is stored in the link. It does not change the human-year estimate or the lifespan range.
- What do the life-stage names mean?
- Baby, Adolescent, Adult, Mature, and Senior are this calculator’s labels: under 3 months, 3 to 6 months, 6 months to 3 years, 3 to 6 years, and 6 years and older. They are not a diagnosis.
- My rabbit stopped eating. What should I do?
- Call a rabbit-savvy veterinarian. This calculator does not say anything about illness.
